A two-year-old girl is dead following a car crash in Hawke's Bay yesterday.
Police said the crash occurred on the expressway between Omahu Road and Flaxmere Avenue at about 5pm.
They said it appeared the car crossed the centre line, rolled and ended up in a ditch.
The girl died at the scene.
Her mother and aunt have moderate injuries and were in stable condition in Hawke's Bay hospital.
Police said there was a child seat in the back of the car, and they were looking into whether or not the girl was restrained.
