Motorists are advised to expect delays after a four-vehicle crash at Dome Valley in Waitematā.
A police spokesperson said the crash on State Highway 1 was reported to them at 3:45pm on Tuesday.
They said early indications suggested one person had suffered injuries and would be transported to hospital.
St John said it was notified of a motor vehicle incident on Waiwhiu Conical Peak Road on State Highway 1 near Dome Forest at 3:09pm.
A patient, in a minor to moderate condition, was assessed and treated at the scene.
The crash was causing congestion and both southbound and northbound traffic would be impacted, police said.
