NZTA says a crash site in Upper Hutt has now been cleared.
The northbound lane of State Highway 2 at Totara Park has reopened and access to Totara Park Road has been restored.

Emergency services were called to the highway's Gibbon Street intersection at 12.45pm.
Police said the two-car crash left one person with serious injuries and one with minor injuries.
