A man who died on Trigg Ave in Rotorua is being remembered by friends, family, and fellow kapa haka performers in tributes online.
Police have named the victim as 41-year-old Temutu Vincent Ehau of Rotorua.
Ehau was fatally assaulted on Wednesday.
Four people have been charged with assault and possessing offensive weapons in relation to his death and police have said further charges are likely.

Online tributes say Ehau was a son, brother, father, uncle and friend of all.
One of these friends was Turanga Merito who told RNZ Ehau's death was a shock, and his friends feel broken.
"Your unexpected departure has ripped my heart in half," he said in a tribute to Ehau.
Police said they continue to support Ehau's whānau during this difficult time.
