Recently widowed Ian and his 13 year old daughter Gabrielle are the new sharemilking family that arrives to work on hapless Jack Gilbert’s dairy farm in the small rural community of Fenward. Nickie, a local girl, soon chums up with Gabrielle.

Sue Orr

Sue Orr has a background in journalism and speech-writing and her first collection of stories, Etiquette for a Dinner Party, was published in 2008. Orr’s writing has appeared in anthologies, literary journals, and magazines. Since then she has published a second collection of stories, From Under the Overcoat, and a novel, The Party Line.
Sue lives on the North Shore and teaches creative writing at Manukau Institute of Technology.
