In the wake of the movie Mr Pip released in cinemas across Aotearoa, māori actor and writer Rawiri Paratene (nō Nga Puhi, Te Rarawa) recalls the four months he spent in Papua New Guinea as an acting coach.

WHIRI T AKASinger Mina Ripia has performed with the likes of Moana and the Moahunters, Iwi and Southside of Bombay. Over a decade ago Mina and her partner, multi-instrumentalist Maaka Mcgregor released their first album Wai 100%, followed up in 2010 with Ora.  Her latest collaboration with Kirsten Te Rito; Betty-Anne Monga; Lisa Tomlins and Gaynor Rikihana has produced the Māori Acapella album, Whiri Tū Aka.  Justine Murray is at the official CD launch on October 6, 2013.  

In an archival recording from 1966 at Whakarewarewa, Mrs Morehu talks about her Moko kauae (Taa moko on her chin and lips) through a translator.
