Liz Nugent

From Standing Room Only, 1:50 pm on 22 September 2019

One of Ireland's top crime writers is heading to New Zealand to talk about her craft, and about why sales of crime novels - always popular - are going through the roof in these uncertain international times! Liz Nugent has won four Irish Book Awards for her psychological thrillers, including Unravelling Oliver, Lying in wait and Skin deep. She was named Irish Woman of the Year in Literature in 2017. Liz's perpetrators tend to be seemingly respectable husbands and wives who murder their partners or torment their children. Lynn Freeman wondered if she ever scares herself while writing her novels. Liz Nugent is appearing in Auckland (Te Manawa Library, Thurs 26 Sept ), in Rotorua (McLeods Booksellers, Sat 28 Sept), in Wellington (Karori Library, Thurs 3 Oct), and in Nelson (Elma Turner Library, Sat 5 Oct). She's also a guest at the Celtic Noir Festival in Dunedin next month.
