Jamie, who came to live in Christchurch with his family when he was twelve, took a while to discover who he really was. Now he celebrates each day and his unique style stops people in their tracks in the conservative city of Christchurch and in the department store where he's a makeup artist.
An elegant extrovert, Jamie describes himself as androgynous The morning Spectrum spends with Jamie, he is having his hair done before heading off on a holiday back to Taiwan. 'I want to live my life like a firecracker…short and spectacular,' says the 21 year old, who has almost completed a degree in marketing at Canterbury University.
He also shares the more private story of his upbringing in Taiwan and the huge adjustment to living in New Zealand and coming to terms with who he is.
