Waka discovered on Rēkohu Chatham Islands
It's been described by one expert- as by far - the most important discovery in New Zealand, possibly Polynesian archeology.
It's a waka discovered on Rēkohu Chatham Islands.
Among the 450 pieces recovered are - some braided fibre lashed to timber - and other textiles, which are incredibly rare.
RNZ spoke to Maui Solomon about the important find.
