Kiwi protein biochemist and tissue engineer Dr Laura Domigan is an international leader in the emerging industry of cultivated meat.
Her work tackles some of the planet's major social and environmental challenges, such as greenhouse gas emissions, ethical food choices, animal welfare and food security.
She's the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Opo Bio, New Zealand's first company to grown cells for the cultivated meat industry worldwide.
Dr Domigan is a finalist in the Entrepreneur category of this year's KiwiNet Research Commercialisation Awards.
