Phil Price - Master of the kinetic sculpture

Since 2000 New Zealand-born artist Phil Price has focused on creating wind-activated kinetic sculpture. He has worked on major international public and private projects including: Cytoplasm, Auckland's Viaduct basin; Zephyrometer, Rongotai, Wellington; Tree of Life, McClelland Gallery, Victoria; and Snake, Aarhus, Denmark. His work is held in collections around the world including Austria, US, Switzerland, Vietnam, Argentina, Holland, UK, and Australia. Price's work is widely acknowledged for its size, beauty, and evocation on of the natural world. He has been invited to exhibit at Sculpture by the Sea, at Cottesloe, Western Australia -  an annual outdoor sculpture exhibition that transforms the white sands of Cottesloe Beach, March 1-18. Price has created a new 7m high kinetic work titled Ipomoea for the exhibition. One of his works is also showing at the Sculpture on the Gulf exhibition which opened yesterday on Waiheke Island.
