Ian Brodie was the founding director of the New Zealand Fighter Pilots Museum (later re-named Warbirds and Wheels Museum) in Wanaka and author of several books including A Journey through New Zealand Film, Cameras in Narnia, The Lord of the Rings Travel Diary, The Lord of the Rings Location Guidebook and the aviation series Warbirds over Wanaka. In 2005 he was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to tourism. His photographic book Ian Brodie's New Zealand: One Man's Love Affair with His Country (HarperCollins, ISBN 978-1-86950-696-4), has just been published.
