One in Five, joins Tim Bardrick as he gets behind the wheel for the first time since experiencing a brain bleed.

The Dunedin man says, after some 40 years of driving himself around, the loss of independence was frustrating and caused complications for work and family life.

But as his health has improved, he has undergone a driving test under the watchful eye of Barbara Steptoe, an occupational therapist who specialises in assessments for people with disabilities or who have experienced a health event.

Katy Gosset talks to the pair about the challenges of getting mobile again after a lifechanging injury and joins them for a celebratory drive around Dunedin.
