This is the last programme for 2008. But we're back after the summer break, broadcasting from Sunday the first of February.

The festive season is a time for celebrating and remembering, partying, giving and receiving gifts. But it's also a time when domestic violence goes up a few notches, as the pressures on family take their toll. And it's how domestic violence affects disabled people that members of the disability coalition against violence (DCAV) want to see taken more seriously. Two members of the coalition,Lorri Mackness and Wendi Wicks took part in the recent international forum on womens rights and development. Hosted by the Association on Womens Rights in Development (AWID), in Capetown, it was an opportunity for some two thousand women from around the globe to organize thoughts and action. Lorri and Wendi compare notes.
