More than 40,000 households around New Zealand are connected to prepay electricity meters provided by the three largest energy retailers. In its latest survey of electricity prices, Consumer NZ highlighted the issue of price for prepay customers and how some households on prepay meters can ended up paying hundreds of dollars more than those on a post-pay plan.
