The Climate Leaders' Coalition - whose signatories are responsible for almost 60 percent of the country's greenhouse gas emissions - will today officially launch a Statement of Ambition, which aims for meaningful climate action.  The new statement will require signatories to adopt short and long-term science-aligned emissions reduction targets; assess and publicly disclose their climate opportunities and risks  - including in their value chain; consider an assessment of nature-based risks;  plan for a just transition and proactively support their stakeholders - including employees, suppliers and customers - to act on climate change. Kathryn is joined by Jolie Hodson, CEO of Spark, who's taking over the role as the Coalition's Convenor.

The Auckland Council has just released the results of it's 2021 Waitākere Ranges kauri health monitoring survey. It shows 81 percent of the trees are in good health or only showing minor signs of stress. Kauri dieback team manager Lisa Tolich says the pathogen that causes the disease has only been found on the periphery of the Waitakeres.. Four years ago the Auckland Council imposed strict measures to prevent the spread of Kauri dieback disease, including closing off parts of the Waitākere Ranges to the public. And a canine tool has been employed to detect the disease. Auckland council, Biosecurity Advisor Kerryn Johnson has an update on the trial of two dogs Mawhai and Pip trained to sniff out Kauri dieback

It's a tricky subject,  but there are times for all parents when they just don't like parenthood. They love their child, but the actual experience of being a parent at that moment, just doesn't feel great. For example, when your child is inconsolable, and you haven't been able to eat or sleep in hours, and you can't even get to the toilet! Psychologist Sarb Johal say ambivalence about parenting can strike at any time - even in the lead up to parenting. He says it's totally normal but because few parents ever voice these feelings, it's easy to feel guilty.
