US-based tech journalist and blogger Quinn Norton is best known for her work covering the hacker collective Anonymous. She has written extensively on everything from hacker culture and the Occupy movement to digital copyright, and is an exponent of the little-known art of 'body hacking'. She was a friend of Aaron Swartz, the internet activist who took his own life while facing prosecution for breaking into the computer system at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Quinn is in New Zealand to deliver the keynote address Encyclopedias, Lolcats, and Revolutions, and other Strange Consequences of an Open and Free Internet at NetHui in Wellington.
