09:30 Protests against ANZ Bank
Protests against the ANZ bank are springing up around the country by groups of small investors who've lost millions of dollars in two investment funds half owned by the bank.
The ING funds were frozen in March last year after a run of withdrawals.
ING is 50% owned by ANZ. At their peak the two funds were worth 800 million dollars - they're now worth around 160 million.
The protestors - who've formed a steering group - called the Frozen Funds Group, say ANZ advisers were promoting the ING funds as low and medium risk.
They say this was misleading, and many of them have lost their retirement savings.
Gerard Prinsen, Frozen Funds Group committee; Mike Hill, 73-year-old former magistrate, one of the protestors in Blenheim yesterday who invested money through ANZ - he thought his initial investment of $551,000 was low-risk ... but is now worth about $100,000 and is frozen.
