Sport clubs across New Zealand are struggling as they face a double whammy of increasing costs and decreasing number of volunteers.

Despite hard times the report found sporting clubs across the country were still the beating heart of many communities providing important wider social benefits.
Dr Mel Johnston is a senior lecturer in Sport Management at AUT, and the project lead for the report. She joins Mark Leishman.
