Documenting 50 Years of Greenpeace

From Nights, 7:14 pm on 10 November 2021

In 1990, Michael Szabo wrote a book called Making Waves, telling the story of the first 20 years of Greenpeace.  He's just brought this project up to date with Making Waves II.  He joins us to tell us more.

Greenpeace sponsored SV Vega confronts the Noble Bob Douglas drilling ship on the site where oil giant Anadarko intends to start exploratory drilling for deep sea oil. Other yachts in the Oil Free Seas Flotilla say outside the 500 metre exclusion zone, from left, SV Tiama, SV Friendship, SV Shearwater II and SV Ratbag (brown sails). The drill site is over 100 nautical miles off Raglan, on the west coast of New Zealand, and in waters around a kilometre and a half deep. Photo: © Greenpeace / Nigel Marple

Michael is also a keen photographer of our native bird life and has kindly let us make a gallery of some of his work.
