Have you ever wondered how journalists take notes in this modern technological age? You don't see many with notebooks anymore - it's all recorded on smartphones. So is there any need for them to learn shorthand? It seems the death of shorthand is upon us as journalism schools phase out the craft. The head of Massey University, Journalism School, James Hollings tells Bryan Crump, they phased it out last year and it seems they were the last school to do so, but it's been a good decision.
