‘North by North’ by The Bats

From Nights, 6:33 pm on 28 September 2017

Songwriter, Robert Scott, grew up close to Dunedin airport in Mosgiel. He left the town to go into Dunedin to go to art school when he was 17 or so. That led to his later meeting David Kilgour (The Clean, Great Unwashed, David Kilgour and the Heavy Eights). We also need something upbeat and this is a great driving song. And we are headed in a northerly direction into Dunedin. Robert is an interesting character. A prolific songwriter working in many genres, styles, and bands. He has written thousands of songs. He has done covers of traditional folk songs and written for The Bats and The Clean and played in dozens of different bands as well as making solo albums. And he draws and paints most of his covers. I don't know how he has time to sleep. (Part of Bryan Crump and Richard Langston's Dunedin: A Magical Musical Tour).
