From Nights, 7:09 pm on 25 September 2014

Famine
Famine by Rowan Gillespie (1997). Dublin, Custom House Quay.

The Irish Famine 1845-1852 is now the most visualised experience of the Irish across the globe, through memorials and public art.

Dr Emily Mark-FitzGerald from University College Dublin's School of Art History and Cultural Policy talks about her project exploring the visual history of the famine, including the Australian Monument to the Great Irish Famine in Sydney.
