Media Evolution Writing about music may well be like dancing about architecture, but there are still hundreds of column-inches dedicated to it each week. NZ music print - both magazines and newspapers - saw various machinations during 2011, with much behind-the-scenes desk hopping as various titles came and went, plus re-formatting and experimenting with multimedia publishing - all following similar developments being tried overseas in an effort to keep music writing economically viable.

Kirsten Johnstone is joined by local print writers and publishers: Leonie Hayden – editor of Rip It Up; Sam Wicks, editor of Volume Magazine; and Hugh Sundae – NZ Herald online entertainment editor.
