9:06 The Wednesday Drama: Midnight in Moscow, by Dean Parker

This week’s Wednesday Drama is set in 1948 at the New Zealand Legation in Russia. Midnight in Moscow inhabits the intriguing world of cold war diplomacy. It’s a ‘Philby and McLean’ story, which explores questions about loyalty - loyalty to your country or loyalty to a friend?

Dean Parker’s ‘Midnight in Moscow’ is a witty mystery with hints of Chekov and shades of John Le Carre. The narrative inhabits a similar world to that of Philby, Burgess and McLean giving a uniquely New Zealand perspective on the early days of the cold war.

Cast: Tim Spite, Geraldine Brophy, Jason Whyte, Rachel More, Liz Kirkman.
