Reporting from the capital Dhaka of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in South East Asia, pop. 164.4 million (2009 est), is our correspondent Mahtab Haider. Hosting the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup (in conjunction with India and Sri Lanka), it's the biggest national event since Bangladesh declared independence from Pakistan 40 years ago.
