RNZ Music was lucky enough to record Christchurch indie-pop musician Jed Parsons performing live at secret Lincoln music venue the Shelter. Sad Together; is the third single from Jed’s upcoming second album, due out early next year.
Multi-instrumentalist Jed Parsons has performed on local and international stages with many different bands, and in 2018 released his debut solo record Midnight Feast.

Recently he’s been releasing songs from his upcoming second album, which is due out early next year. ‘Sad Together’ is the record’s third single, following ‘Playstation & Porn’, and ‘She’s the One’.
‘Sad Together’ is all about the” strange sort of synchronicity that comes with being in a stable loving relationship” Christchurch-based Jed says.
Last week he released the song’s official video, which was created by the very talented Sports Team, who are nominated for Best Music Video at this year’s Aotearoa Music Awards for The Beths’ ‘I’m Not Getting Excited’
“It opens with a ‘that scene’ from every Hollywood rom-com movie, where the male protagonist gets the door slammed in his face after screwing up big-time.
“The video follows his subsequent sad walk down the street and beyond, leading to a bigger twist than M. Night Shyamalan could have pulled off,” Jed explains.
