VIDEO PREMIERE: Christchurch singer-songwriter Mousey with ‘Extreme Highs’

From RNZ Music, 10:00 am on 2 July 2019

‘Extreme Highs’ is the first release from emerging Christchurch musician Mousey – aka Sarena Close, and RNZ Music is proud to be the first to share its retro sitcom-style video!

Mousey is inspired by acts including Radiohead, Russian/American singer Regina Spektor and American multi-instrumentalist Sufjan Stevens.

Her debut single 'Extreme Highs' is about “the emotional roller coaster” she went through when living with nine others in a crammed Christchurch flat.

The video was shot in the actual flat that inspired the song and is directed by Mousey and Christchurch filmmaker Martin Sagadin.

In the style of an 80s sitcom intro, the video features some of Mousey’s actual flatmates at the time, as well as other friends who spent time at the house.

‘Extreme Highs’ will appear on Mousey’s upcoming album Lemon Law.
