Taiwan-born multidisciplinary artist Nikita 雅涵 Tu-Bryant will revisit her lo-fi confessional 2016 album (Before, and After) JOSHUA at the Wintergarden, the Civic, as part of the Auckland Cabaret Festival. Joining her will be Dave Khan (Marlon Williams, The Veils, Reb Fountain) and Arahi Whaanga (Te Tokotoru, Troy Kingi).

Junk Fest is an alternative music festival in Auckland. It’s in its second year, having sold out in 2024. Among a host of Aotearoa and Australian acts, the line-up includes Flying Nun’s Office Dog, Vera Ellen and Ringlets.

Kara Rickard caught up with organiser of Junk Fest and founder of live music agency Junkmail, Lara Marie.

Electronic DJ, composer and producer Cory Champion chooses songs to soundtrack his life for the Mixtape.

Champion, based in Wellington, has made a name in the Wellington underground dance scene as an electronic DJ and producer. He is the producer of neo-jazz fusion project Clear Path Ensemble, who were nominated as a finalist for Best Jazz Artist at the Aotearoa Music Awards in 2024, and also releases music under his own imprint BCS under the moniker Borrowed cs.
