Jessica Pratt's music shimmers. The LA-based artist's new album, Here In the Pitch, feels like a recontextualisation of psychedelic folk in a modern context, with a vintage flavour influenced by delicate sonic textures and Pratt’s crooning, understated vocals.

Maggie Tweedie speaks to Los Angeles folk singer Pratt about her new album Here In The Pitch and her upcoming Aotearoa tour.

14:15 London-based musician Arjuna Oakes releases debut album

Arjuna Oakes masterfully blends contemporary jazz, soul and electronica influences into a unique sound. Oakes cut his teeth on the Wellington jazz scene, where he wrote and recorded his debut album, While I’m Distracted.

Oakes caught up with Maggie Tweedie about his experience of transitioning into London life, building artistic connections abroad and the Wellington jazz community who now call London home.

4:05 The Mixtape: Hannah Everingham

Folk musician Hannah Everingham joined Maggie Tweedie for The Mixtape. The Ōtautahi-born singer-songwriter, has a folk touch with a tropical inflection. She released her sophomore album, Siempre Tiene Flores, in 2024.
