Lontalius in session
Wellingtonian Eddie Johnston has been steadily making a name for himself under his alter egos Lontalius and Race Banyon.  He's just been signed to Partisan Records, and is about embark on an international tour with appearances at CMJ and Red Bull Music Academy. But before he hops on a plane, he stops by the Music 101 Studio for a live session with Emma Smith.

Pyro
Audio company Serato, primarily known for its DJ software, is making its first foray into the non-DJ consumer market through their new iOS app, Pyro. We speak to AJ Bertenshaw, co-founder of the New Zealand-based outfit about their new offering which enables user's devices to make seamless music mixes.

EMI’s Sampling Amnesty
Alex Black is EMI Production Music’s global director, who specialises in creating and clearing music made for TV, film and advertising. Recently EMI Publishing took the step of declaring an amnesty for all sampling declarations from its extensive back catalogue. Trevor Reekie talks to Alex Black about how the amnesty aims to build relationships with the sampling community.

Groeni began life in 2012 as the solo beats-based project of Wellington producer and musician Al Green, but has expanded to include fellow musicians Mike Isaacs and James Paul. Ahead of the release of Groeni’s third EP, Hinde, Melody Thomas speaks with the band about evolving a one-man project into a collaborative three-piece.

Anatomy of a Song is a radio series produced by RDU 98.5 FM in Christchurch, which explores the sounds and processes used to produce a recorded song, using classic tracks from well-known New Zealand musicians. Each episode sees Spanky Moore at a mixing desk with an artist to dissect the different elements of one of their tracks, and to get under the hood of what it is that makes that song special.
