Chvrches’ Lauren Mayberry hasn’t shied away from speaking out about the sexist abuse she’s experienced at the hands of misogynist trolls, using her position as the front person of this Glaswegian synth-pop trio to make her voice heard. Ahead of their appearance at St Jerome’s Laneway Festival 2016, Chvrches' Martin Doherty explains how he’s weighed in behind his bandmate.

American dream-pop group Luna have reformed after splitting up 10 years ago. Bass player Britta Phillips, whose first gig was providing the singing voice for rocker Jem from the 1980s' animated series of the same name, talks to Kiran Dass about what it’s like playing together again.

Two years in the works, Auckland group GPOGP has delivered their sophomore LP, which comes as a 12-inch slab of vinyl twinned with an art book. Emma Smith talks to the avant-garde rock outfit about Scrying in Infirmary Architecture.

Ghana has a thriving Afro-pop industry, in which traditional Ghanaian music is infused with elements of pop, hip hop and gospel music.

In part one of Global Beats: Ghana Edition, London-based DJ Rita Ray meets up-and-coming Ghanaian musicians, who perform songs and talk about what inspires them in Ghana and beyond.

Stinky Jim and Dubhead: 25 Years On-Air
Since 1990, Stinky Jim (Pinckney) and Dubhead (Patrick Waller) have been broadcasting on Auckland’s 95bFM, hosting Stinky Grooves and The Rhythm Selection respectively, two shows with a strong reggae focus. On the week of their 25th anniversary celebration, Tony Stamp sits them down to ask about being tastemakers in a changing media landscape, what keeps them hungry for new music, and the tunes that have hit hardest over the last quarter-century.
