Hawke's Bay has hit a new milestone in its recovery from Cyclone Gabrielle.
More than 1200 homes have been shifted to Category 1 after spending the last two months in the more severe Categories 2 and 3.
It means hundreds of residents in Hastings, Napier, and Central Hawke's Bay can move on with their lives after months of uncertainty.
