An atmospheric river has brought high winds and heavy rain to much of the upper North Island with Metservice warning of more to come.
Orange wind and rain warnings are in place in Northland, Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Nelson, and Coromandel, with heavy rain closing State Highway One north of Auckland last night due to an under slip.
Orange warnings are in place over all marine areas north of New Plymouth and Bay of Plenty.
