A construction expert is warning that owners of flood-damaged Auckland homes with untreated timber need to take rapid action.
Prendos property consultant Phil O'Sullivan says untreated wooden framing will decay when wet and eventually damage the structural integrity of the home.
He says buildings built between 1993 and 2005 are particularly at risk.
