Councils struggle to cover costs of road repairs

Severe winter weather has been wreaking havoc on the country's roads this week. But high-vis vests have been out in full force across the motu throughout the winter as teams scramble to clear up after slips, flooding, and fallen trees. Waka Kotahi says we're seeing higher numbers of intense rainfall events with catastrophic effects on our roads. And councils are struggling to keep up with the clean up. Lauren Crimp reports.
