Dunedin residents allowed back into homes after flooding risk

From Morning Report, 6:44 am on 27 July 2022

Residents who were evacuated in North Dunedin are being allowed back into their homes this morning.

People from 35 properties between Montgomery Avenue and Leith Street, and several patients from the Otago Community Hospice were moved as a precaution.

The city was drenched with 50 millimetres of rain overnight - and a heavy rain warning is still in place until later this morning.

Dunedin City Councillor and Taieri Farmer Mike Lord spoke to Susie Ferguson.
