Heavy rain and wild winds are set to to hit the top of the North Island today, and the outlook for down south later in the week isn't much better.
MetService says a low-pressure system is currently homing in on country, with big rainfalls booked for Northland and Auckland.
MetService meteorologist John Law says we should expect lots of wind, too, with gusts of up to 120kph forecast for the upper North Island.
