A wintry blast is set to hit the country today bringing with it rain, gales and possibly snow.
Orange warnings for heavy rain are in place for parts of the Bay of Plenty, Westland and Fiordland.
Snowfall is likely along the Crown Range Road and Milford Road over the next couple of days.
