The flood-damaged Mangahauini bridge at Tokomaru Bay in Gisborne is open again after a massive repair effort.
The town was cut off after a 16-metre section of bridge was washed out during the flooding. The bridge was rebuilt 10 days ahead of schedule.
Downer Gisborne regional manager Nigel Pollock oversaw the project.
