Around 60 households have spent a night in temporary accommodation after serious flooding hit West Auckland yesterday.
In the 24 hours to 9am on Tuesday, almost 210 milimetres of rain fell around the area, the second wettest day on record.
The suburbs of Kumeū, Ranui and Henderson Valley were particularly damaged by the heavy rain and high winds.
Auckland Waitākare ward councillor Shane Henderson spoke to Susie Ferguson.
