Soaring temperatures around the country are about to plummet.
The country's east coast was hit by a second summer on Monday with some areas reaching almost 30 degrees.
Napier, Waipawa and Masterton all broke local temperature records for May.
It'll be another scorcher for many today - Kaikōura could reach an unseasonal 28 degrees.
But all this is about to change.
