Parts of New Zealand's east coast are so dry, farmers say they'll run out of feed before the winter.
NIWA's drought index shows Hawke's Bay, Marlborough and Banks Peninsula are very or extremely dry - and the forecast isn't looking much better.
Some farmers say it's been 18 months since they've had a decent downpour, and want more recognition of the plight they're in.
