Firefighters who battled for hours yesterday to prevent a blaze from destroying homes at Pines Beach, are worried record hot temperatures forecast for today could undo all of their good work.
They were due to get back to work at first light this morning preventing the flames from getting any closer to the settlement, just north of Christchurch.
