A top New Zealand infectious diseases expert says it's natural to compare Covid-19 and the flu, but that would be too simplistic and inaccurate.
Since the pandemic began, scientists have been working to understand how deadly Coronavirus really is by assessing the number of deaths in relation to the number of cases.
But how do we know the real effects of the virus - and just how harmful it is?
David Murdoch is a professor of Infectious Diseases at the University of Otago and a member of the Ministry of Health's Covid-19 Technical Advisory Group.
