From Morning Report, 8:30 am on 2 July 2020

NIWA has recorded a nearly 12-metre wave off the coast of Banks Peninsula this morning.

The Southerly blast is generating huge swells, which are heading up the East coast of the North Island.

They've left a mess on the southern facing coastal roads around Wellington.
