Murupara fights to keep its only bank open

From Morning Report, 7:55 am on 11 June 2019

Residents in the Bay of Plenty town of Murupara are fighting for the town's only bank to stay open.

New Zealand Credit Union hasn't been handling any cash since the town's sole ATM was ripped from its wall by thieves last week.

At a public meeting last night locals asked for a new ATM to be installed but the Credit Union didn't commit to providing one.
