West Coast devastated by rain, wind - Civil Defence update

Heavy rain on the West Coast has caused widespread flooding and slips, closing more than 600 kilometres of State Highway 6 to through traffic. A State of Emergency was declared on Tuesday after a large section of the Waiho Bridge was washed away close to Franz Josef township. Westland civil defence controller Simon Bastion has the latest information and speaks to Susie Ferguson.
