Aid gets through to quake-hit Sulawesi
Desperately-needed aid is now beginning to get through to areas of Sulawesi devastated by last Friday's earthquake and tsunami. Efforts to fly in supplies could be further complicated because a volcano Mount Soputan, also on the island is now erupting, spewing ash thousands of metres into the air. The death toll is now more than 14-hundred... more than two and a half thousand people have been seriously injured... and the UN estimates more than 200-thousand people are in urgent need of relief supplies. But for many their desperation continues with stories of survivors scavenging through piles of rubble, and rotting remains, looking for food.
