Auckland power cuts: Thousands suffer cold night

From Morning Report, 7:09 am on 12 April 2018

Tens of thousands of Aucklanders are waking up to another bitterly cold morning with no prospect of a hot coffee. About 55,000 homes and businesses in Auckland remain without power after Tuesday night's wild weather. The outages are widespread across the city, and Vector is warning some people could be waiting a few days for their electricity to come back on. On Wednesday night RNZ reporter Sarah Robson went to Summer Street in Ponsonby, where half the street had their lights on and the other half was in the dark.
